Fiorentina Still After Ljungberg
Despite the recent denials of Ljungberg's representative, the Viola have continued to show an interest in Swedish maestro Freddie Ljungberg.Fiorentina's sporting director, Pantaleo Covino, is famed for unearthing raw talent, but seems to have set his sights on an established big name in the form of Freddie Ljungberg.
The 30 year old winger is highly regarded in Florence, and Covino has confirmed that the Swede is a target for the new season, while admitting that landing the Arsenal man would be extremely difficult.
Indeed, it may be impossible. A few days ago Freddie's agent, Clare Elefalk, insisted that Ljungberg will remain at the Emirates for his tenth year in the red and white.
However, despite the denials, Il Firenze have reported that Fiorentina have already approached Arsenal and some initial negotiations are believed to have started between the two clubs. Fiorentina offering some £5m for the midfielder. The only significant obstacle being Ljungberg's £3.6m salary which Fiorentina would have to match or better.
Covino is also believed to be targeting Manchester United striker Guisseppe Rossi, currently on loan to Parma with a £6.8m bid.

I doubt this will happen. What made me laugh more was Sven Goran Eriksson saying that he wanted Michael Owen and Freddie to play for Manchester City!! Manchester City!!! My ribs are still hurting cos' I have laughed that much!!
Well too bad; they can't have him. There are a hundred other wingers they can go after. Freddie wants to stay at Arsenal; that's that.
Don't laugh to hard because you know Sven is telling the truth, he's getting Freddie and Owen. He's also bringing in Ronaldiho, Ronaldo and anybody else who's name sounds like that so don't laugh at him. hahaha
No but really I got a question I'm about to order the new Arsenal away shirt and it says it will be 70.00 pounds, so 70.00 pounds equals what dolliars?
Wish I could just go to the damn store and pick it up.
70 quid? Paul can confirm for sure but that should be roughly 140US...maybe 137-8ish.
Yeah £70 is about US$138 at the moment. I hope that includes delivery!!
The Fiorentina story is in The Guardian newspaper (a serious one) today. Apparently club officials have been to visit Arsenal in London today and offered £5.5m for Freddie!
I saw it. It makes me very sad...:(:(
oh come on 138!! mannnnn!!! Yeah I think this is true because French full-back Bakary Sagna is in London waiting so that he can sign. Sagna is a great player I'm glad to see him but I would have thought he would come in for a defender, not Freddie. You know I was wonder why Freddie wasn't in the away kit ads and stuff.
You can get the new away shirt from Kitbag for US$ 88.00 including Airmail delivery. This is without name and number branding though! The link's on the main page of the blog. You might be able to get it a bit cheaper if you shop around though!
thanks for that I'll check it out
